Grief and Loss, Trauma Informed therapy

Grief and Loss, Trauma Informed therapy

Grief is a personal journey that affects us all in different ways, and sometimes, in unexpected ways. Being able to talk and tell our story in a safe, trauma-informed environment can help us make sense of our new reality and understand how to navigate life in this new place eventually.

Death can affront us in many ways, including sudden and unexpected deaths such as death by suicide.  I provide a warm, safe, and autonomous online space that welcomes people who have experienced grief and loss, not only through bereavement but through trauma or change.

I am easy to get to know.  My warm, compassionate nature and genuine care for others enable me to establish therapeutic relationships with people.  I have lived experiences of grief and loss and death by suicide.  My practice is trauma-informed and practical, incorporating the sharing of self-soothing strategies to help individuals return to states of mauri tau and calm.  I am tauiwi, Pākeha, and I deeply respect and value my relationship with tangata whenua.

I integrate various aspects from different approaches for therapy, such as the Strengths Approach, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, ACT, Pae Tata Pae Tawhiti, Te Whare Tapa Whā, Sensory Integration, Emotional Regulation and the Bader Pearson Developmental Model for Relationships – Attachment, Differentiation, and Neuroscience.
