Perimenopause Workshop

Perimenopause Workshop

This 2.5-hour workshop includes a 2-hour interactive presentation and 30 minutes of reflection and sharing. You can ask questions, share your stories, and connect with others who are going through perimenopause.

The workshop is held at a host’s home or in a community venue and is offered regularly in Taranaki and Christchurch. Facilitators can be contacted to provide the workshop throughout Aotearoa. If you have a group of friends who would like to attend this workshop, and you are happy to host, please get in touch to arrange a home-based workshop.

Build your knowledge and resources, honour this life phase and connect and collaborate with others on the same journey. This workshop aims to help you walk away feeling connected, resourced, and uplifted.

WHAT IS PERIMENOPAUSE

Perimenopause is the 2-12 years of hormonal changes before menopause. Menopause is marked by the end of 12 months of absence of menstruation following the cessation of ovarian follicular activity. You then enter your postmenopausal years. These life stages can bring about numerous changes and disruptions to your well-being, but research indicates that being prepared for these changes can enhance health and well-being (Varley & Patton, 2023*).

This workshop is a co-created project by Angela Roberts, a Sexologist, Occupational Therapist, and Menstrual Educator, and Alice Tabak, a Menstrual Educator, to provide practical resources, peer support, and effective education for individuals experiencing Perimenopause.

Disclaimer: This workshop is designed to provide general information and offer a therapeutic space, but it is not individualised therapy. It is not intended to provide or replace medical advice. We do not offer bespoke advice but rather recommend one-on-one specialist care (in conjunction with this generalised workshop). Examples of professionals available include: Lara Briden (Naturopathic doctor, psycho/physical lens), Jane Catherine Severne (Luna House, psycho/spiritual lens), Anna Fenton (Endocrinologist, Forte Health), Amelia Stafford (Naturopath, Medical Herbalist & Natural Fertility Educator), Dr Samantha Newman (General Practitioner with a Specialist Interest in Women’s Health) amongst others.
